When should I apply to Medicare?

The answer to that question depends upon your current work situation.  If you are already retired and drawing Social Security then you do not have to enroll at all.  Social Security will automatically enroll anyone in Medicare Part A and Part B 3 months prior to turning 65.

If you are currently working and plan to continue to work passed 65 then you don’t have to enroll in Medicare Part B.
