Adam, I know it is getting close to the time of year to review my (Medicare) Part D coverage.  It worked out well for me this year.  Why should I review it?

Reviewing your Medicare Part D coverage can be a frustrating experience especially if you take a large number of medications.  But you need to review it because everything about the coverage changes every year.  The premium, deductible, co-payments, covered medicines, networked pharmacies can change every year.  Now, if you take all generics (or no medications at all) and the premium didn’t increase massively then you can probably just stay with your current coverage.  In most cases, it is a good idea to review the coverage just to be on the safe side.

The annual enrollment period (AEP) is the only time of the year to review your Medicare Part D coverage.  It begins on October 15th and ends on December 7th.  If you miss this window to change your current coverage will simply roll over to the next year for you.

As always if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call.
